Is Lit Cosmetics Cruelty-Free and Vegan?

Make a positive impact by supporting companies with the same values and ethics as what matters most to you. To navigate and find ethical brands, here's a summary of Lit Cosmetics' ethics and initiatives.

Ethical Analysis

Is Lit Cosmetics cruelty-free, vegan, or sustainable? We’ve got the answers here! Read below for more details on Lit Cosmetics’ policies.
Lit Cosmetics is cruelty-free. None of Lit Cosmetics’ ingredients, formulations, or finished products are tested on animals, anywhere in the world.
All of Lit Cosmetics products are 100% vegan and don’t contain any animal-derived ingredients or by-products.
Lit Cosmetics does not claim or market itself as a sustainable company.
Lit Cosmetics claims their mica comes from a “reputable company” and state all of their products are child labor free. However, it was not specifically addressed where their mica is sourced from and how they trace or audit to ensure it was mined without child labor.
Lit Cosmetics has a new plant-based biodegradable glitter but almost all of Lit Cosmetics other glitter products and packaging contain plastic. I couldn’t find anything stating they’re working on reducing their use of virgin plastic in their product packaging.

Ethical Mica Sourcing Policy

I asked Lit Cosmetics if their mica is ethically sourced without forced or child labor and they responded stating,

“Our mica’s come from a reputable pigment company in China. As mentioned on our website – all of our products are cruelty free and no child labour. We are compliant with Health Canada.”
