Shopping at Ulta but wondering which brands are cruelty-free or not?
I went through Ulta’s entire brand directory of over 500+ brands and did the research to find out which brands are cruelty-free or not and compiled this ultimate list of cruelty-free brands at Ulta!
So that you can easily shop and support brands that do not conduct, condone, or commission animal tests on any of their products or ingredients. I have classified brands as being Cruelty-Free as they have confirmed all of the following:
- The brand does not test their products on animals
- The brand does not test their ingredients or formulations on animals
- The brand does not commission or allow others to test on animals on their behalf
- The brand’s raw materials suppliers also do not test on animals and they have verified this
- The brand does not sell its products in stores in mainland China or any other country that may require animal testing by law
- The brand does not allow their products to be tested on animals when required by law
Note: Some of the brands listed may or may not be entirely vegan. I’ve noted which brands are 100% Vegan and don’t use any animal-derived ingredients or by-products in any of their product lines.

I’m in the process of changing my beauty products over to cruelty-free/vegan products. This list is very helpful, and I appreciate that you explained why you chose not to tag some brands as cruelty-free despite what they claim.
Please check the bare minerals web site. I see things have changed, clean beauty, cruelty free, etc.
