Liquid lipsticks have been on all the rage for quite some time now and for good reasons because a quality liquid lipstick does what regular lipsticks can’t! Liquid lipsticks last longer, doesn’t transfer, and won’t disappear when you eat or drink.
But when it comes to finding liquid lipsticks that are both cruelty-free (not tested on animals) and vegan (does not contain animal-derived ingredients), things tend to get a little tricky!
One of the most popular drugstore liquid lipsticks is NYX’s soft matte lip creams but sadly, they contain beeswax and therefore aren’t vegan.
Then there’s beloved Too Faced’s vegan melted liquid lipsticks and although Too Faced is cruelty-free and does not test on animals but they’re owned by Estee Lauder, a corporation that continues to test on animals, where some caring consumers believe that if you buy anything from Too Faced, you’ll also be financially supporting and funding more animal tests done by Estee Lauder.
But don’t get discouraged! Because I’ve managed to find 24 cruelty-free and vegan liquid lipsticks all ranging from drugstore, high-end, and some notable indie-brands!
They also come in a different liquid lipstick finish from matte, shiny, high-gloss, to metallic so you’ll be sure to find one that’s suitable for you.

BH Cosmetics is one of my fav! All of their products are cruelty-free, some are vegan, gluten free, allergic tested, dermatologist tested… The prices are incredible, just like the products. Annabelle Cosmetics is cruelty-free as well, and Jordana, Milani, Alicia Cosmetics….
Which of the two wet n wild liquid lipsticks arent vegan?
Hi there! Firstly, thank you for putting together this list! I am a bit confused though, because from what I’ve seen on the Ofra website about their long lasting liquid lipstick, they did list that some shades may contain CI 75470 (Carmine) (the shades that I saw were Atlantic City and Miami Fever). The same goes for one Colourpop Ultra Matte shade that I saw (i think it was Mama). If they do contain CI 75470, then doesn’t that mean not all shades are vegan?
Wet n’ wild is no longer cruelty-free since they sell in mainland China.
