Ethical Analysis

Is Lakmé USA cruelty-free, vegan, or sustainable? We’ve got the answers here! Read below for more details on Lakmé’s policies.
Lakmé is cruelty-free. None of Lakmé’s ingredients, formulations, or finished products are tested on animals, anywhere in the world.
Not all of Lakmé’s products are vegan but they have some vegan options.
Some of Lakmé Sustainability claims are: they meet ECOCERT Greenlife standard for natural and organic cosmetics, they properly recycle all waste generated during production, they use CIP cleaning system to reduce and recycle their water usage, and they use solar panels to generate clean energy.

Also, Lakmé has a collection called “Teknia” that claims to be all-in-one: Sustainable, Organic, Vegan, and Eco-Friendly. But I couldn’t find any information on what makes this collection “sustainable” or “eco-friendly” or what exactly their sustainability practices and policies are.
Lakmé has been non-responsive when I asked if their products contain mica and if so, whether it’s ethically-sourced without the use of child labor.
Lakmé products come in plastic packaging. I couldn’t find anything stating they’re working on reducing their use of virgin plastic in their product packaging.
