Animal testing for cosmetics is STILL happening as we go into 2020! πŸ’‰πŸ Neither the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) nor the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission *require* animal testing for cosmetics or household products. There are sufficient existing safety data as well as in vitro alternatives to make animal testing for these products obsolete. (Source: Leaping Bunny)
.
Therefore it is up to brands and ingredient suppliers to ensure no new animal tests occur during any stage of product development and manufacturing.
.
Vote with your consumer dollars by choosing to only buy from cruelty-free brands in 2020! ✊🏻 Let’s continue to fight to see a global end to animal testing for cosmetics! ✨

Looking for a stylish vegan winter coat to keep you warm this season? ❄️ Here are some ethical vegan outerwear labels! 🌿 From vegan puffers, parkas, bombers, vests, coats, and jackets for men, women, and kids! πŸ§₯✨
.
What to look out for in an ethical + vegan winter coat:
❄️ Avoid coats filled with down and animal feathers -- instead, these vegan labels use recycled polyester that are made from used bottles and post-consumer recycled content. They're also warmer, lighter, and more breathable than goose-down!
❄️ Read the label to see if the fur-trim is animal-derived or not. -- Don't just assume it's faux fur, it only takes two seconds to check to be sure!
❄️ Ethically-made -- If the price is too good to be true, it probably is. Support vegan labels that care about the people making their clothes just as much as they do about the animals! Are their workers treated fairly, under safe conditions, and paid a living wage?
❄️ Made to Last -- Avoid shopping for a cheap winter coat just to wear a handful of times and to be replaced next year. Choose quality outerwear made with durable materials that were made to last, and even better, check to see if it comes with a warranty! πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Vegan Etsy Gift Ideas – From or For Vegans

This post may contain affiliate links.

I am collaborating with Etsy again to bring a little Eco-Holiday cheer to this year’s festivities! Last month, I highlighted some amazing ethical and sustainable home decor and hosting essentials that you can find on Etsy.

Etsy is an incredible online marketplace where you can find lots of handmade, unique, and personalized products from around the world, which is why they make for some thoughtful, one-of-kind gifts this holiday season.

But browsing and sifting through Etsy’s infinite options can be a little overwhelming so I’m here to help you out with a round-up of some of my favorite vegan gift ideas sold on Etsy!

Whether you’re a vegan or you’re looking for a gift to give to a vegan friend, family member, co-worker, or secret Santa, there’s something for everyone on your list here!

Vegan Shirts

I absolutely love buying vegan shirts from Etsy! They have an endless selection of designs to choose from, whether you’re looking for funny vegan shirts, cute + minimalist styles, or unique and creative illustrations. You’ll definitely find a vegan shirt for the herbivore on your list at Etsy!

Friends Not Food Crop Top ($30) – A super cute and colorful design with a classic vegan slogan “Friends Not Food” printed on a comfortable oversized crop shirt using eco-friendly inks.

Mama Vegan Little Vegan Matching Set ($40) – This matching set is so adorable and would be a great gift for an expecting vegan mother. The set comes with an adult t-shirt and a choice of a baby bodysuit or infant size shirt.

Maybe Broccoli Doesn’t Like You Either ($25) – A funny and clever comeback to all the plant-haters! I love the low-key and minimalist style of this t-shirt.

Vegan Home Goods

I recently found some incredible unique vegan home goods and kitchen essentials on Etsy and thought they would make for some perfect gifts this Holiday season! Here are my top picks:

Personalized Vegan Treats Bowl ($16) – this is just too cute and would make the perfect unique gift for a vegan friend as you can personalize it to say their name or a nickname you share with them!

Funny Vegan Protein Coffee Mug ($21) – I laughed so hard when I saw this mug and I bet any vegan can relate to this meme. It’s hilarious, quirky, and would make an awesome gift.

Vegan Nooch Jar ($64) – Oh yes, a nutritional yeast aka Nooch jar is a necessity in just about every vegan’s kitchen and pantry. You can choose from a selection of colors and it can store up to 3 cups of nooch.

Vegan Bags

Vegan handbags and purses make for some great gifts as they’re practical, functional, and always in need to keep our busy lives organized while on-the-go! Etsy has some unique vegan bags that are handmade with love by independent designers so that you can feel good about supporting small shop owners while also not harming any animals!

Small Vegan Crossbody Bag + Clutch by Lee Coren ($65) – handmade with the softest vegan suede material, this bag comes with a removal gold chain so it can easily be transformed from a compact crossbody into a convenient clutch.

Vegan Leather Backpack by LeBante ($145) – perfect for everyday needs and traveling, this vegan backpack is made with microfibre, polyurethane, recycled fabric, and recycled plastic bottles. All LeBante products are ethically made in a safe and ethical environment.

Eco-Vegan Tote Bag by Vegan Illustrated ($16) – this multi-purpose vegan message tote bag is made from 100% cotton and can be used to store and carry just about everything from school and work necessities, groceries, gym clothes, and more!

Vegan Accessories

I typically like to gift small accessories because they’re small in size, easier to wrap, and usually cost less than $40 but since going vegan, it’s harder to find quality and stylish fashion accessories that do not use leather or wool. Most durable belts and gloves are made from animal-derived leather and many scarves and hats use wool or cashmere.

Luckily, there’s a bunch of vegan accessories you can get on Etsy. In addition, most of them are handmade by independent and local makers! It’s a win-win for everyone!

Unisex Warm Scarf ($40) – ethically handmade in Berlin, Germany out of 100% organic cotton. It’s also fair-trade and made sustainably where there is no waste during production.

Reversible Cork Belt ($40) – consciously handmade with genuine cork fabric, a natural, renewable, and sustainable raw material. This vegan belt is also water-resistant and available in multiple styles for both men and women.

Kitty-Ear Vegan Hat ($24) – handmade with love and acrylic yarn, a vegan-friendly wool alternative. This adorable cat ear hat is purr-fect for all animal-lovers!

Vegan Gift Baskets

If you’re looking for vegan gift baskets or sets, look no further because Etsy has lots of bundles of vegan goodies all gift wrapped and ready for you to gift! All that’s left for you to do is to simply choose the gift box set of your choice! There are lots to browse through from vegan skincare gift sets to vegan food gift baskets to a variety lifestyle set that includes a mix of everything. Here are some of my faves:

Vegan Lifestyle Gift Set ($27) – this is an all-encompassing vegan set that includes a hand-screened printed cotton t-shirt, a ‘Vegan’ eco-shopping tote, a set of 4 vegan badges, a vegan necklace, and 3 bags of vegan candies. You can customize and personalize this gift set by choosing the design and color of the shirt, as well as, a selection of vegan badge designs.

Vegan Soap Gift Box ($41) – this bath gift set includes six 100% natural and vegan bars of soaps for face and body. The soaps are handcrafted with cleansing and moisturizing plant butters and oils, essential oils, and botanical extracts.

Vegan Snack Gift Basket ($31) – tell someone they’re lookin’ like a snack with this vegan snack gift box which includes 10 premium handpicked delicious samplings of vegan snacks and treats including chips, bars, cookies, jerky and fruit snacks.

Vegan Holiday Cards

I find that Etsy has the best vegan Christmas-themed Holiday cards! They’re all so funny with the cutest illustrations. Whether you’re looking for a card for a vegan friend or you may be vegan yourself and looking for a comedic way to spread the holiday cheer, Etsy has a variety of greeting cards to choose from.

You can also personalize them! Whether you want a personalized message in the card, want it shipped directly to the receiver, or just want a blank card sent to you first. The choice is yours!

Avo Merry Christmas ($4) – This punny card will have anyone giggling because who doesn’t love avocados?!

Santa wants oat milk with a side of dark chocolate vegan cookies this year ($4) – I second that! As a fellow vegan, I would totally get this card to hand out!

This Christmas instead of a present, I’ll let you talk about being vegan for ten whole minutes ($4) – I love this card, it’s hilarious yet endearing at the same time!

I hope I was able to give you some gift ideas for the vegan or plant-based warrior in your life! I’d love to know, which of these items caught your eye? Or if you’re a fellow vegan, which of these items are on your wishlist?
