👣 Every time I think of foot cream, I think of the scene from Mean Girls when Cady gives Regina George foot cream as a face moisturizer and Aaron is like, "Hey your face smells like peppermint" 😁

𝚟𝚎𝚐𝚊𝚗 ≠ 𝚌𝚛𝚞𝚎𝚕𝚝𝚢-𝚏𝚛𝚎𝚎
some cosmetics labeled as 'vegan' doesn't necessarily mean they're also cruelty-free.
How? the term '𝚌𝚛𝚞𝚎𝚕𝚝𝚢-𝚏𝚛𝚎𝚎' is generally used to imply the products and its ingredients were not tested on animals, whereas the term '𝚟𝚎𝚐𝚊𝚗' is generally used to imply the products do not contain any animal-derived ingredients or by-products (like carmine, beeswax, lanolin, honey, etc.)
𝓷𝓸𝓽𝓮: I'm saying 'generally' here because this is how the cosmetic industry is generally using these two terms, that's not to say these are ideal or perfect definitions and tbh, if it were up to me, there wouldn't be a difference as almost all animal-derived ingredients cannot be obtained in a 'cruelty-free' manner, but I digress.
𝓮𝔁𝓪𝓶𝓹𝓵𝓮𝓼: swipe ➡️ to see a couple of real-life examples of products that are vegan 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙩 cruelty-free.
1️⃣ Garnier claims their Ultimate Blends and new Fructis hair products are ‘vegan’, explaining these products do not contain animal-derived ingredients or by-products. But Garnier is actually not a cruelty-free brand, as Garnier does test on animals when required by law
2️⃣ In 2017, L’Oreal’s EverPure Shampoo and Conditioners were spotted with a ‘100% Vegan’ stamp on the packaging. L’Oreal claims these products are ‘vegan’ in which they don’t contain animal-derived ingredients or by-products, but L’Oreal is definitely not a cruelty-free brand. L’Oreal does test on animals when required by law.
🔍 Look for products that are both cruelty-free 𝙖𝙣𝙙 vegan to ensure the products and its ingredients were not tested on animals 𝙖𝙣𝙙 it doesn't contain animal-derived ingredients or by-products.
Do you know of any other brands/products that claim to be vegan but isn't cruelty-free?🤔

TōN Cosmetics Ultra Luxe Lipstick Review – Cruelty-Free & Vegan

This post may contain affiliate links.

I can’t tell you how many times I bought a shade of lipstick because I saw how good it looked on the model but after trying it on myself, it ends up looking completely different.

I recently learned that your skin tone and complexion plays a huge part in finding the perfect shade of lipstick that will work best with your unique attributes.

But how does one possibly know what their perfect shade is for a nude, red, or pink lipstick? That’s where TōN Cosmetics comes in!

TōN Cosmetics aims to decode the beauty world for its customers, leading them to their perfect colour match. Behind every tube of lipstick, is the determination and devotion of two sisters who want to see every gal find her soul mate – the perfect lip colour!

TōN Cosmetics

About TōN Cosmetics

TōN Cosmetics is a Canadian, cruelty-free, and vegan beauty brand with a mission for helping fabulous women (and men!) find their perfect lipstick shade!

How does it work? Take their short and simple questionnaire (it’s only 7 questions!), and they’ll do all the work for you. In the end, they’ll recommend 3 of their lipstick shades for you to try! It’s that easy.

TōN lipstick formula is made with natural hydrating ingredients like shea butter and vitamin E oil. It is also formaldehyde-free and paraben-free. All of TōN Cosmetics’ products are proudly made in Canada ??.

For my fair complexion and cool undertone, I was recommended TōN Cosmetics lipsticks in the shade: Fair Cool 1, Fair Cool 2, Fair Cool 3.

Fair Cool 3 – TōN Cosmetics Lipstick

Color description: With an ever-so-slight hint of berry undertones combined with a touch of shimmer to soften the look, this pink shade is perfectly suited to your fair, bluish hue.

My review: In my opinion, there’s more than a touch of shimmer to this lipstick. The soft pink lipstick color is very pretty but the overwhelming amount of shimmer makes this difficult for me to wear everyday, however, I do love wearing this as a lip topper on-top of other shades.

Fair Cool 1 – TōN Cosmetics Lipstick

Color description: Designed to neutralize your bluish hue, this nude was designed specifically for your fair, cool complexion.

My review: I was surprised with how good this nude lipstick looked on me! I typically go for a pink-nude shade but this soft-peach nude really ended up complementing my fair complexion.

Fair Cool 2 – TōN Cosmetics Lipstick

Color description: With your fair complexion and bluish undertone, a slight pink tint is all you need to make your red lip colour work.

My review: Color appears like a neutral dark red lipstick on me. I wouldn’t normally pick this dark of a red lipstick for myself so I’ve been enjoying playing around with different looks with this new dark red shade of lipstick.

Price: CAD$22/each on toncosmetics.com

Formula: All 3 of TōN lipsticks formula were quite consistent with one another. The lipsticks were pigmented, smooth, and felt comfortable on the lips with a satin smooth finish.

The lipsticks, however, did transfer and need reapplying throughout the day and/or after eating and drinking.

Overall review: I love the idea of having someone help me pick out my perfect shade of lipstick that works best for my complexion and skin tone. And all I had to do was answer a quick and easy questionnaire! I also did learn a lot about how different complexions and undertones play a factor in choosing an ideal shade that works best for me.

The price of each lipstick is $22, making it a mid-to-high end lipstick. If you take the questionnaire, you do get a personalized experience and an expert opinion.
