Is Pixi Beauty Cruelty-Free?

🐰 Pixi Beauty is a cruelty-free brand. None of Pixi Beauty’s ingredients or products are tested on animals anywhere in the world.

How Did We Conclude Pixi Beauty is Cruelty-Free?

Pixi Beauty has met all the criteria in our Cruelty-Free Checklist, which includes ALL of the following:

  • ✓ Pixi Beauty confirmed they do not test their products or ingredients on animals or ask others to test on their behalf.
  • ✓ Pixi Beauty confirmed all their ingredient suppliers do not test on animals
  • ✓ Pixi Beauty confirmed they do not allow or sell their products under conditions where animal testing is required by law

By meeting all of our Cruelty-Free Criteria, Pixi Beauty is a truly cruelty-free brand by our standards.

Is Pixi Beauty Certified Cruelty-Free?

Pixi Beauty is not certified by a third-party cruelty-free accreditation like Leaping Bunny or PETA.

Although Pixi Beauty is not certified cruelty-free, the company has confirmed to us it is a truly cruelty-free brand by meeting all the criteria in our Cruelty-Free Checklist.

Note that companies can remain to be cruelty-free without an official cruelty-free certification. Some companies may choose not to be certified cruelty-free because of cost, privacy, or lack of resources.

Is Pixi Beauty Sold in China?

Pixi Beauty has confirmed they do NOT currently sell their products in retail stores in mainland China; therefore, they are not required to test on animals.

What’s going on with China’s animal testing laws in 2024? Some cosmetics sold in China can be exempt from animal testing under certain conditions. However, without meeting those conditions, animal testing is still legally required for most cosmetics sold in China in 2023.

Is Pixi Beauty Vegan?

⭐️ Pixi Beauty is NOT a vegan brand. Some of Pixi Beauty’s products contain animal-derived ingredients and by-products. But Pixi Beauty offers some vegan options.

Does Pixi Beauty Label Its Vegan Products?

Yes. Some of Pixi Beauty’s vegan products are clearly labeled as vegan.

Are Pixi Beauty’s Products Certified Vegan?

No. Pixi Beauty’s vegan products are NOT certified vegan by an official or third-party vegan designation. Pixi Beauty’s vegan products are self-reported and defined by the brand itself.

Pixi Vegan Product List

Below is a list of Pixi Beauty products that are suitable for vegans and do not contain any animal-derived ingredients or by-products. This vegan product list was provided by Pixi.

*Note: Unfortunately Pixi will no longer provide me with an updated list of their vegan products. But they will tell you if a product is vegan or not if you ask them. Since they have so many products, I’m unfortunately unable to ask them about each one individually. So, it’s best to contact Pixi directly for the most up-to-date and accurate information on which items are vegan-friendly.

Where are Pixi’s products made?

I asked Pixi where their products are manufactured and they told me:

“Pixi products are made all over the world. You can locate where a product is made on the label below the ingredient listing.”

*I checked a few of the product descriptions on their website and saw some items say, Made in Korea, USA, or China. But not all products state where they’re made.

*Note: Cosmetics made in China are not required to be tested on animals. Only cosmetics that are imported and sold in physical stores in mainland China are required to be tested on animals according to China’s animal testing laws.

Ethical Mica Mining Policy

Mica is a mineral that’s used in cosmetics to add a shimmery effect. But the mining of natural mica has been linked to child labor and human rights violations.

Unless the company discloses its mica mining policy, we have no way of knowing whether its mica is ethically sourced without child or forced labor.

So I asked Pixi if their mica is ethically sourced without the use of child labor and they responded by stating,

“We always ask our suppliers to use ingredients that have been ethically and sustainably sourced. We also only work with suppliers who follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards as implemented by the FDA.

Pixi claims they use “ethically sourced” ingredients but did not specifically address where their mica is sourced from and how they audit or trace to ensure no child labor was involved in mining their mica.
