How Ethical Is Woosh Beauty?

Make a positive impact by supporting companies with the same values and ethics as what matters most to you. To navigate and find ethical brands, here's a summary of Woosh Beauty's ethics and initiatives.

Ethical Analysis

Is Woosh Beauty cruelty-free, vegan, or sustainable? We’ve got the answers here! Read below for more details on Woosh Beauty’s policies.
Woosh Beauty is cruelty-free. None of Woosh Beauty’s ingredients, formulations, or finished products are tested on animals, anywhere in the world.
Not all of Woosh Beauty’s products are vegan but they have some vegan options.
On their website, Woosh Beauty claims “sustainable” and “our brand is centered around ethical business practices.” But I couldn’t find any additional information on their website explaining what makes them “sustainable”, how their packaging is “thoughtfully packaged”, or what type of “ethical business practices” they implement.
Woosh Beauty uses synthetic mica that’s made in a lab and therefore no child labor was involved.
Woosh Beauty products come in plastic packaging. I couldn’t find anything stating they’re working on reducing their use of virgin plastic in their product packaging.

Is Woosh Beauty Cruelty-Free?

🐰 Woosh Beauty is a cruelty-free brand. None of Woosh Beauty’s ingredients or products are tested on animals anywhere in the world.

How Did We Conclude Woosh Beauty is Cruelty-Free?

Woosh Beauty has met all the criteria in our Cruelty-Free Checklist, which includes ALL of the following:

  • ✓ Woosh Beauty confirmed they do not test their products or ingredients on animals or ask others to test on their behalf.
  • ✓ Woosh Beauty confirmed all their ingredient suppliers do not test on animals
  • ✓ Woosh Beauty confirmed they do not allow or sell their products under conditions where animal testing is required by law

By meeting all of our Cruelty-Free Criteria, Woosh Beauty is a truly cruelty-free brand by our standards.

Is Woosh Beauty Certified Cruelty-Free?

Yes. PETA recognizes Woosh Beauty as cruelty-free. But Woosh Beauty is NOT certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny or Cruelty Free International.

Is Woosh Beauty Sold in China?

Woosh Beauty has confirmed they do NOT currently sell their products in retail stores in mainland China; therefore, they are not required to test on animals.

What’s going on with China’s animal testing laws in 2024? Some cosmetics sold in China can be exempt from animal testing under certain conditions. However, without meeting those conditions, animal testing is still legally required for most cosmetics sold in China in 2024.

Is Woosh Beauty Vegan?

⭐️ Woosh Beauty is a 100% vegan brand. All their products are vegan, and are formulated without any animal-derived ingredients or by-products.

Are Woosh Beauty’s Products Certified Vegan?

No. Woosh Beauty’s vegan products are NOT certified vegan by an official or third-party vegan designation. Woosh Beauty’s vegan products are self-reported and defined by the brand itself.

Where are Woosh Beauty’s products made?

Woosh Beauty states on its website,

Where is the Fold Out Face made and where does it ship from?
All cosmetics in the Fold Out face are made in the USA. All products are safety tested and ship from our warehouse in Pennsylvania.”

Where are your brushes made and where do they ship from?
Woosh’s cruelty-free brushes are made in China. All products are safety tested and ship from our warehouse in Pennsylvania.

*Note: Cosmetics made in China are not required to be tested on animals. Only cosmetics that are imported and sold in physical stores in mainland China are required to be tested on animals according to China’s animal testing laws.

Ethical Mica Sourcing Policy

I asked Woosh Beauty if their mica is ethically sourced without forced or child labor and they responded stating,

“That’s certainly a horrible situation, and one we stay away from.

We use manufacturers who routinely audit their factories and also our mica is synthetically made so happens in a laboratory vs a mine. Being respectable of the environment, animals and people is core to everything we do.”
