K18 is cruelty-free. None of K18’s ingredients, formulations, or finished products are tested on animals anywhere in the world.
All of K18’s products are 100% vegan and don’t contain any animal-derived ingredients or by-products.
K18 Hair claims “biotech is the path toward a more sustainable future.” K18 also states it is Certified Plastic Neutral.
K18’s products come in plastic packaging. But K18 products are Certified Plastic Neutral by Plastic Bank.

How Did We Conclude K18 Hair is Cruelty-Free?

K18 Hair has met all the criteria in our Cruelty-Free Checklist, which includes ALL of the following:

  • ✓ K18 Hair confirmed they do not test their products or ingredients on animals or ask others to test on their behalf.
  • ✓ K18 Hair confirmed all their ingredient suppliers do not test on animals
  • ✓ K18 Hair confirmed they do not allow or sell their products under conditions where animal testing is required by law

Is K18 Hair Owned By a Company That Tests on Animals?

Yes, Unilever owns K18 Hair. Unilever is NOT a cruelty-free company. 

Unilever allows its products to be tested on animals when required by law. Although Unilever does not conduct the animal tests themselves, they either consent or allow others to test their products/ingredients on animals for them.

Is K18 Hair Sold in China?

K18 Hair has confirmed they do NOT currently sell their products in retail stores in mainland China; therefore, they are not required to test on animals.

What’s going on with China’s animal testing laws in 2024? Some cosmetics sold in China can be exempt from animal testing under certain conditions. However, without meeting those conditions, animal testing is still legally required for most cosmetics sold in China in 2024.

Is K18 Hair Vegan?

Where are K18 Hair’s products made?

“K18 products are manufactured in North America but the peptide was created in Portugal.”
