Below is a screenshot of what’s currently stated on J.Cat Beauty’s website about their animal testing policy:

J Cat Beauty Cruelty-Free Claims

Is J.Cat Beauty Sold in China?

Most imported cosmetics sold in mainland China are required by law to be tested on animals in 2021. However, J.Cat Beauty has confirmed they do not sell their products in retail stores in mainland China and therefore they are not required to test on animals.

J.Cat Beauty has met all of our criteria in our Cruelty-Free Checklist and is included on our List of Cruelty-Free Brands.

You can find J.Cat Beauty cruelty-free products at Ulta and Sally’s.

Is J. Cat Beauty Vegan?

Not all of J.Cat Beauty’s products are vegan as some of their products contain animal-derived ingredients or by-products. However, J.Cat Beauty does have some vegan options.

When I emailed and asked J.Cat Beauty if they have any vegan-friendly products, they told me:

Our new Glitter Dazzle Eye Toppers are vegan long with our brushes and tools and Rockin the Night Sparkling Powders.

Is J.Cat Beauty Sustainable?

J.Cat Beauty’s headquarters is based in: the US

J.Cat Beauty’s products are manufactured in: “it depends on the product” – you’ll need to ask about a specific product before they can tell you where it’s made.

J.Cat Beauty does not claim to be a sustainable company.

Additionally, I wasn’t able to find any available information on J.Cat Beauty’s sustainability, environmental, and social initiatives.

Is J.Cat Beauty’s Mica Ethically-Sourced? J.Cat Beauty is unable to disclose where their mica is sourced from as they “have a lot of products so it varies”. It also wasn’t clear whether they use natural mica, synthetic mica, or a combination of both. Additionally, they didn’t specifically address how they audit or trace to ensure their natural mica was ethically sourced without the use of child labor.

“Thanks so much for your interest and great questions! Mica can be made synthetically and doesn’t have to be sourced naturally. We have a lot of products so it varies on the product where Mica is from. We only use reputable factories who work with known cosmetics brands; therefore, their business practice is up to our standards and make sure we bring the best product to the market.”

I hope this article helped you to understand J.Cat Beauty’s cruelty-free and vegan status and by choosing cruelty-free together, we can help end animal testing for cosmetics once and for all!
