Is Curlsmith cruelty-free, vegan, or sustainable? We’ve got the answers here! Read below for more details on Curlsmith’s policies.
Curlsmith is cruelty-free. None of Curlsmith’s ingredients, formulations, or finished products are tested on animals, anywhere in the world.
Not all of Curlsmith’s products are vegan, but they have some vegan options.
Curlsmith claims they have a “fair and transparent supply chain, sourcing our rare ingredients from the most remote parts of the world, closely co-operating with and supporting local communities.”
Curlsmith products come in plastic packaging. I couldn’t find anything stating they’re working on reducing their use of virgin plastic in their product packaging.

Is Curlsmith Cruelty-Free?

🐰 Curlsmith is a cruelty-free brand. None of Curlsmith’s ingredients or products are tested on animals anywhere in the world.

How Did We Conclude Curlsmith is Cruelty-Free?

Curlsmith has met all the criteria in our Cruelty-Free Checklist, which includes ALL of the following:

  • ✓ Curlsmith confirmed they do not test their products or ingredients on animals or ask others to test on their behalf.
  • ✓ Curlsmith confirmed all their ingredient suppliers do not test on animals
  • ✓ Curlsmith confirmed they do not allow or sell their products under conditions where animal testing is required by law

By meeting all of our Cruelty-Free Criteria, Curlsmith is a truly cruelty-free brand by our standards.

Is Curlsmith Certified Cruelty-Free?

Curlsmith claims on its website, “Curlsmith is certified by The Vegan Society and PETA.” However, I could not find Curlsmith listed in either brand directory. I emailed the brand to ask why they weren’t listed, and they said they’d reach out to both organizations and follow up to amend it. Curlsmith is still not currently listed.

Is Curlsmith Sold in China?

Curlsmith has confirmed they do NOT currently sell their products in retail stores in mainland China; therefore, they are not required to test on animals.

What’s going on with China’s animal testing laws in 2024? Some cosmetics sold in China can be exempt from animal testing under certain conditions. However, without meeting those conditions, animal testing is still legally required for most cosmetics sold in China in 2024.

Is Curlsmith Vegan?

⭐️ Curlsmith is a 100% vegan brand. All their products are vegan, and are formulated without any animal-derived ingredients or by-products.

Are Curlsmith’s Products Certified Vegan?
