Unilever Acquires Cruelty-Free Beauty Brand Tatcha for a Reported $500 Million

Tatcha is still considered to be cruelty-free (as of right now and we'll be closely monitoring any updates to their animal testing policies) however, Unilever is definitely NOT cruelty-free as their products/ingredients are tested on animals when required by law in 2019.
_
For those of you who choose to boycott CF brands that are owned by a parent company that is not cruelty-free, then sadly Tatcha should be avoided. However, if you choose to support these CF brands and want to know which of Tatcha skincare products are also vegan, you can find a vegan product list below!

Tatcha isn't a 100% vegan beauty brand however they do offer some vegan options 💜

Review: Giovanni’s D:Tox System Facial Cleansing Towelettes

I’ve been trying my best to cut down on using facial wipes as often because the tree hugger in me finds them wasteful. But I recently discovered Giovanni Purifying & Exfoliating Facial Cleansing Towelettes (I got mine for $4.99/30 wipes, at Winners) which are made with biodegradable cloth!

To satisfy my inner lazy girl syndrome, I needed a facial wipe that could do it all in one go; remove makeup, cleanse all the nasties, exfoliate my skin, all without drying my skin and breaking me out!

Yes, I’m a product developer’s worst nightmare.. lazy but high maintenance.

Thankfully, the peeps at Giovanni has got me covered with their D:tox System’s cleansing towelettes {CRUELTY-FREE + VEGAN}!

Giovanni_20150510_1393

Out with the bad. In with the good. Giovanni’s D:Tox System purifying and exfoliating facial cleansing towelettes wipe away the grime and excess oil that can destroy your glow. Volcanic Ash draws out impurities and gently uncovers new skin. Powerhouses Acai and Goji Berry seal the deal with revitalizing antioxidants that help combat skin-damaging free radicals. Skin is left soft, pure and subtly awakened with the scent of fig and green tea. Prepare to put your refreshed face forward.

PRODUCT CLAIMS

  • Draws out toxins & impurities to revitalize tired-looking skin
  • Out with the bad: volcanic Ash gently exfoliates
  • In with the good: antioxidants help combat skin-damaging free radicals
  • Ultra-soft to comfortably remove makeup & mascara

“Put your best face forward: Use D:Tox System purifying and exfoliating facial cleansing towelettes daily – anytime, anywhere – to cleanse, remove stubborn makeup and recharge your skin. For maximum results, do not rinse. Lightly reseal package after each use to maintain freshness of remaining towelettes.”

REVIEW

Giovanni D:tox System Facial Cleansing Towelettes

I can definitely attest to their claims of how ultra-soft the cleansing cloth is and even more importantly, it leaves my skin feeling just as soft! I get a little nervous using any kind of wipes on my face because it might irritate my skin with all that rubbing going on but these cloths are one of the softest I’ve used to date!

It does the job of removing all of my makeup and cleansing my face but what really keeps me coming back to Giovanni’s cleansing cloths is that they don’t leave my skin feeling dry. I think this is where the magic of antioxidants from the Acai and Goji berries come into play.

Now I’m not sure what they meant, “For maximum results, do not rinse.” Do they mean don’t rinse the cloth itself (which makes sense) or your face after using the cloth?

However I did find that it left a little bit of sticky residue on my skin so after using the cleansing towelettes, I will splash some water on my face and pat dry with a towel. This leaves my skin feeling so soft and not dry at all!
