Want to know if your wine is vegan? Check out barnivore.com, an online directory of vegan and vegetarian beer, wine, and liquor 🍻 β€œwhen making the product, dairy, honey, and other things are ingredients in the final recipe. When filtering the drinks prior to bottling, companies can use things like isinglass (from fish bladder), gelatin, egg whites, and sea shells, among other things. These products grab onto the impurities and make it easier to catch them in the filters, though there are many animal-free alternatives in use.” πŸ₯‚πŸΎ

Loving the simple, clean, and vegan ingredients in this nourishing ELIXIR nail and cuticle oil by @madam_glam! πŸ’› Contains only three ingredients (Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E & Vitamin B) to help soften dry cuticles and keep them moisturized for a perfect mani πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
.
There is virtually no scent to this cuticle oil, so this would be perfect for someone who is sensitive to fragrances or for someone who doesn’t like lingering scents on their hands when using a hand cream or oil.
.
I also appreciate the recyclable packaging and reusable glass bottle + dropper! ♻️ 🌍

Is Dr. Brandt Skincare cruelty-free?

Answer:

No. Dr. Brandt Skincare is not cruelty-free. Their products are tested on animals in countries that require animal testing, like Mainland China.

Dr. Brandt’s Animal Testing Policy

Dr. Brandt Skincare claims to be a “cruelty-free-oriented organization” which is a misleading label and is a prime example of how there is very little meaning and regulation to the use of the label “cruelty-free”.

Did you know? There are no standard definitions or regulations to what qualifies a product or company to be labelled as “Cruelty-free”. That means, cruelty-free can mean whatever users want it to mean!

Source: Dr. Brandt’s Skincare

In the case with Dr. Brandt, they claim that they are not doing the animal testing themselves so that’s why they call themselves “a cruelty-free-oriented organization” however they are having others test their products on animals for them.

Since Dr. Brandt has decided to sell their products in Mainland China, they must pay and consent to have their products tested on animals first. “In those cases, the national governments conduct their own tests of our products – we do not and will never test on animals ourselves.”

I think Dr. Brandt can do better than that. They can choose not to sell in China and therefore no one needs to test any of their products on animals.

Source: Dr. Brandt’s Online Store Locator

Using Dr. Brandt Skincare’s online store locator feature, I was able to find a number of stores throughout China that carries their products. This is evidence that Dr. Brandt is selling their products in Mainland China where animal testing is required by law for all imported cosmetics.

Therefore I would not consider Dr. Brandt Skincare to be cruelty-free.
