“It’s not about being perfect! And we don’t know any vegans who walk around saying that they are, or that they cause zero harm. Veganism doesn’t mean causing ZERO harm (that would be delusional)... but it definitely means causing a lot less of it!! And causing LESS harm than before (before being vegan) is definitely worth celebrating and continuing to advocate for.

Don’t let the vegan haters get you down. Usually the people pointing their fingers and trying to find a flaw in veganism are the ones who simply don’t understand it or don’t know what it takes to stand for something.” (Words by @vegan_boss, 📸 via @unmeatfuture)

Deep Steep’s Animal Testing Policy; Cruelty-free & Vegan!

Is Deep Steep Tested On Animals?

Deep Steep makes natural and organic bath and body products that are clean. pure. natural. But what about Deep Steep’s animal testing policy? I’ve confirmed with a rep through email and I’m happy to verify Deep Steep is indeed a cruelty-free and vegan brand! (Read note below!)

Update (Sept 13, 2016): Deep Steep is no longer a 100% Vegan brand. They recently launched a “Fresh Honey” product range that contains organic honey. Deep Steep is still a cruelty-free brand and they do not test any of their products/ingredients on animals however not all of Deep Steep products are vegan.

Deep Steep Animal Testing Policy

On Deep Steep’s website, there really isn’t much information about their stance on animal testing including third party and parent company testing. It should also be noted that Deep Steep is certified cruelty-free by both Leaping Bunny and PETA.

Deep Steep Animal Testing Policy

I emailed Deep Steep asking details and received the following response:

“Thank you for contacting us.  You can rest assured, none of our products or ingredients are tested on animals.  Our products are not sold in China.” (Jan 13, 2016)

Of course, I wanted to learn more and followed-up asking for specifics and they’ve kindly responded to each of my inquiries:

– Do you hire a third party to test on animals on your behalf?
No testing is done in house or third party on our behalf.

– How do your verify that your ingredient suppliers also do not test on animals?
They supply us with documentation confirming to the effect.

– Is Deep Steep owned by a parent company that may test on animals (including when required by law)?
We are never required by law to test on animals. Parent company does not approve of animal testing*

Are any of Deep Steep products sold in mainland China?
We don’t sell to mainland China.

*“Our Deep Steep brand shares ownership with Royal Labs Natural Cosmetics, a USDA certified Organic manufacturer and supplier to the leading all-natural brands in the industry.”

Deep Steep is Cruelty-Free!

I am pleased to hear that Deep Steep’s products and ingredients are not tested on animals or commission to any party on their behalf and that their parent company also does not test on animals. It is safe to say that Deep Steep is indeed a cruelty-free brand!

Have you had the pleasure of trying some of Deep Steep’s natural bath and body products yet?

What do you think?
