Shopping for animal-free shoes that are vegan-friendly can sometimes feel like a chore. I love shoes but I love animals more, so it’s totally worth taking the time to read the composition of every shoe to make sure none of the vegan shoes I buy and wear came from a dead animal.

But let’s be real, it sort of gets tedious and tiresome after awhile.

I think this is also the main reason why some people struggle with finding and shopping for vegan shoes, it feels like actual work.

I totally get it! Sometimes we just want someone else to do the work for us so that we don’t have to, and there are plenty of vegan shoe shops that are working tirelessly to try to solve this very issue.

But after several years of being vegan and not one to give up my shoe obsession, I found a growing number of online shops that actually have a category of vegan shoes (as well as vegan handbags and accessories) so that we can view and shop for animal-free shoes without having to do much work!

I am defining “vegan shoes” here as shoes that were not made out of animal leather, skin, hair, or feathers. Although most shoes nowadays also do not use animal-based glue, this was not a criteria I looked into when defining shoes as being vegan. If the glue used in your shoes is an area of concern for you, please do further research to ensure the brand of shoes you intend to buy do not contain animal-based glue.

In this post, I’ll share with you some of the popular online shops that cater to vegans that are looking for vegan shoe options and more importantly, I’ll show you exactly how to find these pages, some are more obvious than others.

So let’s get to it!

Free People

This popular retailer has its own category for vegan shoes, as well as, vegan leather and faux fur jackets & outerwear to make it super easy for us to view and shop for vegan-only clothing! Free People has vegan Birkenstocks, vegan western-style boots, and some of the cutest vegan booties.

How to find: Hover your mouse over SHOES on the main menu and then you’ll see VEGAN SHOES in the first column.

Price Range: $50-$300 for vegan shoes at Free People

Lulus

Lulus.com has one of the best collections for vegan shoes and they have a number of categories to shop from including vegan flats, vegan sandals, vegan heels, and vegan boots! Lulus mostly carries their own brand of vegan shoes but they also have some designer shoes that are made from all-vegan materials like Steve Madden, Kendall + Kylie, Betsey Johnson, and Chinese Laundry.

They also have a shop category to find vegan handbags and purses made from vegan leather.

How to find: Hover your mouse over SHOES on the main menu and then you’ll see VEGAN SHOES, underneath of that you can click to view VEGAN FLATS, VEGAN SANDALS, VEGAN HEELS & WEDGES, or VEGAN BOOTS.

Price Range: $19-$180 for vegan shoes at Lulus.com

Zappos

Zappos has an entire shop collection for their vegan shoes, clothes, and bags! Zappos carries a range of affordable and mid-to-high end designer brands, so you can find a pair of vegan shoes for as low as $20 or a pair of designer vegan heels from Moschino on sale for $300.

How to find: You can find it by simply typing “vegan” in the search bar or adding /vegan to the end of their domain url: www.zappos.com/vegan and from there, you can use their filter options on the left sidebar to view SHOES or whatever else you’re looking for.

Price Range: $20-$300 for vegan shoes at Zappos.com

Nasty Gal

Nasty Gal has a fab selection of vegan-friendly shoes, clothes, and accessories. I especially love shopping at Nasty Gal for dressy vegan high heels and boots.

How to find: In order to find and view what’s vegan, just type “vegan” in their search bar and then from there, you can click SHOES in the sidebar to only view vegan shoes.

Price Range: $20-$150 for vegan shoes at Nasty Gal

ModCloth

ModCloth is the go-to retailer for fashionable vintage-style must-haves and they have a bunch of vegan shoes, accessories, and clothes as well!

How to find: Just type “Vegan” in the top search bar and then a list of their vegan shoes and accessories will appear.

Price Range: $30-$80 for vegan shoes at ModCloth.com

ASOS

ASOS carries, in my opinion, the largest online selection of vegan-friendly shoes. Shop for vegan boots, flats, sandals, trainers, and even slippers at ASOS! This will make the purchase so much more affordable!

How to find: Click on “shoes” in the main menu, then click on the drop-down menu that says LEATHER / NON LEATHER and then click NON LEATHER and from there, only shoes made from non leather materials will appear.

I haven’t personally gone through 1,000+ of their Non Leather shoes to see if they’re all vegan or not so I’m unable to say if this is 100% reliable but I think it’s a great starting point nonetheless, just make sure you double-check the materials!

Price Range: $15-$370 for vegan shoes at ASOS

  1. How can you not include animal derived glue as a criteria for vegan shoes?! It’s an essential criteria, else they are just synthetic shoes which anyone can find anywhere. Seems a bit pointless I’m afraid.

    1. Totally agree. Not enough companies state this in there materialsist. It just shows they have no clue as to what Veganism actually means to a person.
