Sleek MakeUP is an affordable drugstore makeup brand but is Sleek MakeUP cruelty-free or vegan in 2022? We’ve got the answers here!
Is Sleek MakeUP Cruelty-Free?
Sleek MakeUP is Cruelty-free! None of Sleek MakeUP’s ingredients, formulations, or finished products are tested on animals, anywhere in the world.
However, it should be noted that Sleek MakeUP is owned by Walgreens Boots Alliance, a parent corporation that does test on animals when required by law.
Sleek MakeUP Animal Testing Policy
Sleek MakeUP has confirmed they do not test their products or ingredients on animals, they do not allow others to test on their behalf, their suppliers also do not test on animals, they do not allow their products to be tested on animals when required by law, and their products are not sold in stores in mainland China or any other country that may require animal testing.
Below is a screenshot of Sleek MakeUP’s official animal testing statement:
In addition, I had email Sleek MakeUP to verify its animal testing policy, here is a snippet of the response I received from the brand:
“Thank you for your enquiry regarding Sleek Makeup products and animal testing.
Sleek Makeup and our parent company Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) make it our responsibility to ensure that none of our products are tested on animals during any stage of the product development process. This also applies to the raw materials used.
Due to this, we are therefore able to declare that all of our products comply with the Directive 2010/63/EU and are not in any way tested on animals.
Sleek Makeup has a legal obligation to ensure that its products are safe; we therefore endeavour to carry out a safety assessment on every single product prior to placing them on the market.
The safety of a cosmetic product can be assessed on the basis of the safety profile of the ingredients used within a formulation.
All of the ingredients used within our products possess well established safety records, due to this they do not require animal testing on a routine basis.
We do not sell our products directly in China (this would require animal testing) and we do not plan to until China changes its laws on animal testing.”
Is Sleek MakeUP Sold in China?
All imported cosmetics sold in mainland China are required by law to be tested on animals. However, Sleek MakeUP has confirmed they do not sell their products in retail stores in mainland China and therefore they are not required to test on animals.
Sleek MakeUP Owned By Walgreens
Walgreens Boots Alliance, a pharmaceutical corporation that does test on animals owns Sleek MakeUP.
Although Sleek MakeUP is owned by Walgreens Boots Alliance, the brand has remained committed to being a cruelty-free brand.
Sleek MakeUP has met all of our criteria in our Cruelty-Free Checklist and is considered cruelty-free.
Is Sleek MakeUP Vegan?
Unfortunately, Sleek MakeUP does not have any vegan options.
The following is a screenshot of what’s currently stated on Sleek MakeUP’s official website about its vegan products:
Sleek MakeUP is considered cruelty-free and doesn’t test on animals, however, since Sleek MakeUP does not currently offer any vegan cosmetics, Sleek MakeUP is not included on our List of Cruelty-Free & Vegan Brands.
In order for brands to be included in our Cruelty-Free List, they must be cruelty-free and offer some vegan products.

Hi. I needed this article right now. Thank you so much for this recent update about Sleek
Thanks for the article. I’m new to Sleek Makeup & recently purchased some of their products. I couldn’t find the cruelty-free logo anywhere on the packaging or the Leaping Bunny logo so I was concerned. I’m not sure why they can’t just work on that.
Hey girl, awesome article. I just have one more question: is sigma vegan or at least some of their products?
