SB 241, sponsored by Senator Linda Holmes (D-Aurora) and signed by Governor J.B. Pritzker on August 9, prohibits the import or sale of any cosmetic if the final product or any ingredient was tested on animals after January 1, 2020.

Last year, California became the first state to enact β€œhumane cosmetics” legislation, followed by Nevada in June. Illinois’ new law provides additional incentives for cosmetics companies to invest in non-animal alternatives to help them stay competitive in a changing global market while sparing animals from painful tests. 12-cruelty-free-bloggers

Cruelty free blogs are great to follow if you want to stay in the loop and find out whether your favourite beauty brands test on animals; discover and gossip about the latest cruelty-free product releases; exchange cruelty-free beauty tips and inspirations; or if you just need a second opinion!

As you may have noticed, there are so many blogs out there on the internet. But as blogging should be based on your passion than financial gain, this shouldn’t be an issue for anyone. There shouldn’t be competition, as everyone’s blog will be different. Whether you are a cruelty free blog or not, you’ll find the right audience who will enjoy your content. Don’t think because someone else if blogging about a similar topic that you can’t do it too. All you need to lift this idea from the ground is the use of a web hosting provider like hostiserver and a passion to form a concept for your blog.

So whether you are here looking for new blogs to read or you’re here for inspiration for a new blog you’ve only just started and have just about learned how to create a logo, here are some of my favourite cruelty-free (and some vegan) beauty bloggers that I follow and so should you!

Cruelty Free Kitty

The moment I discovered Suzi’s cruelty-free blog, I was instantly obsessed! Soaking in every square pixel of her website because it’s so beautifully designed. She’s always coming up with fresh, relevant content that are sitting handy in my browser’s bookmark because I know I will reference back to them often. I am especially loving her post about 5 Brands Most People Assume Are Cruelty-Free But Aren’t

Logical Harmony

This girl definitely does her homework! Tashina Combs is like that kid in your class you want to copy from all the time because you know she always has the right answers. Her list of β€œcruelty-free & vegan brands” is the most up-to-date, researched, and thorough directory on the web. Her product reviews are also so extremely helpful and have personally saved me from wasting hundreds of dollars in disappointing products.

The Lil Foxes

Ashlee Piper is the the Queen Bee for all things pretty and vegan. She is the ultimate celebrity cruelty-free expert where she knows her sh*t and has even been seen on TV. Now, that’s B-A-D-A-S-S. Her blog, The Little Foxes is full of kickass cruelty-free beauty giveaways and you may have seen her work on Refinery29, we told you she was a celebrity!

Phyrra

β€œBeauty for the Bold”

I’m more into the nudes and neutrals in a palette so I’ve enjoyed living vicariously through Courtney’s daring and colorful makeup collection featured in her blog, Phyrra.

If you’re ever thinking about trying a new cruelty-free product or brand, ask Courtney; this girl has tried it A-L-L. And I don’t mean the sissy swatch test, she’ll rock a bold look and look fabulous while doing it!

Vegan Beauty Review

I first discovered Vegan Beauty Review and Sunny from her Youtube channel. She’s like the girl next door that I want to adopt as my new BFF so we can spend our days sipping on soy lattes and gossip about vegan cheese.

Her posts are informative and endearing, giving us the latest scoop on cruelty-free beauty products! She’s also the expert in vegan + cruelty-free deodorants, this gal has tried it all and then some! Sunny is also raising two of the the most adorable vegan baby and toddler so she’s also an expert with mommy and baby vegan products.

The Vegan Chickpea

If you ever need some vegan beauty or fashion advice, Caitlin from The Vegan Chickpea is the girl to ask!
