Boo Bamboo Animal Testing Statement
They list on their website that their products are vegan and cruelty-free so naturally I reached out to them asking for details and clarifications on their certifications and claims.

Thanks for your email. All our products are cruelty free and Vegan, Peta approved. We would never test on animals nor do we sell to any countries that require animal testing.
We take animal cruelty very seriously.
Having failed to answer some of my other questions, I followed-up and received a second response:

When we develop our products we mandate a cruelty free ingredient requirement from our suppliers. We don’t use any ingredients that have been tested on animals.
We don’t use use any animal bi-products in any of our products, they are certified vegan.
I checked PETA’s cruelty-free list and did not see Boo Bamboo mention anywhere in their searchable database or PDF list. I followed up once again with my concerns and received the following response:

We have to revise the company name on the Peta list, our old company was called Preston Cosmetics Company.
Sure enough, Preston Cosmetics is listed on PETA’s certified cruelty-free and vegan list. The website link directed me to an unregistered domain however after some Googling, I am confident to say that Boo Bamboo and Preston Cosmetics are one and the same company.
